Introduction
In general, papillary carcinoma refers to papillary thyroid carcinoma. The notion that papillary thyroid carcinoma can be divided into six categories lacks scientific basis. Typically, papillary thyroid carcinoma can be classified into the following types: classic papillary thyroid carcinoma, follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, tall cell variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, columnar cell variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, and morular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma.

Generally speaking, papillary carcinoma refers to papillary thyroid carcinoma. The claim that papillary thyroid carcinoma can be divided into six categories lacks scientific basis. Typically, papillary thyroid carcinoma can be classified into the following types: classic papillary thyroid carcinoma, follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, tall cell variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, columnar cell variant papillary thyroid carcinoma, and solid/morular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma. Specific details are analyzed as follows:

1. Classic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

The main morphological features of classic papillary thyroid carcinoma are papillary architecture and characteristic nuclear changes, primarily located within lymphatic vessels or stroma.

2. Follicular Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

This variant predominantly exhibits a follicular growth pattern but retains the nuclear characteristics typical of classic papillary thyroid carcinoma.

3. Tall Cell Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

The primary tumor cells in this variant are 2–3 times taller than their width, with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and the classic nuclear features of papillary thyroid carcinoma.

4. Columnar Cell Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

The papillary structures in this variant are composed of tall columnar cells. It lacks the typical nuclear changes seen in classic papillary carcinoma, with nuclei arranged in a pseudostratified pattern.

5. Solid/Morular Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

This is a distinct subtype of papillary thyroid carcinoma, often characterized by membranous cellular changes and histological patterns including cribriform and morule-like (mulberry-like) structures.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical attention if experiencing any symptoms and to undergo standardized treatment under the guidance of a physician, which may facilitate recovery.
