Introduction
If povidone-iodine accidentally gets into the eyes, immediately rinse thoroughly with clean water, maintain eye hygiene, avoid rubbing the eyes, apply a cold compress, and seek medical evaluation. If any abnormalities occur, prompt medical attention is recommended. During the recovery period, ensure adequate rest, avoid staying up late and prolonged eye use, and perform appropriate eye exercises, such as eye stretches or moving the eyes, to aid in eye recovery.

If povidone-iodine accidentally gets into the eyes, take the following measures: rinse eyes with clean water, maintain eye hygiene, avoid rubbing the eyes, apply cold compresses, and seek medical attention. If any abnormalities occur, prompt medical consultation is recommended. Specific measures are as follows:

1. Rinse with clean water: Immediately rinse the eyes with a large amount of running clean water for at least 15 minutes. Frequently blink during rinsing to help flush out the substance through tears and water, reducing damage to the eyes.

2. Maintain eye hygiene: After rinsing, gently dry the eye area with a clean tissue or towel. Avoid touching the eyes directly with hands to prevent bacterial infection from the hands entering the eyes.

3. Avoid rubbing: Do not rub the eyes to prevent small amounts of tears from being unable to drain properly, which may cause the substance to enter deeper into the eyes along with tears, increasing irritation.

4. Cold compress: If there is pain or discomfort in the eyes, apply a cold pack with a suitable temperature gently on the eyes for 10–15 minutes to alleviate pain.

5. Seek medical attention: If a large amount of povidone-iodine enters the eyes and symptoms do not improve after rinsing, immediately visit an ophthalmologist for examination, such as slit-lamp microscopy, to determine whether conjunctivitis, keratitis, or other conditions have developed. Follow the doctor's instructions for targeted treatment.

During the recovery period, rest adequately, avoid staying up late and prolonged eye use, and perform appropriate eye exercises, such as eye massage or moving the eyes, to aid in eye recovery.
