Are fibroadenomas caused by breast hyperplasia?
Although endocrine imbalance is a very common condition among women, it is not a single disease nor does it cause immediate harm to the body. What makes it truly concerning, however, is that it serves as the underlying root cause of numerous diseases. While we often refer to this or that condition as the “origin of all diseases,” such claims may sometimes appear sensationalized. In this case, however, we may indeed have identified the true “origin of all diseases” in women—endocrine imbalance.

Is fibroadenoma caused by mammary gland hyperplasia?
Fibroadenoma and mammary gland hyperplasia are two distinct conditions. Fibroadenoma arises from excessive proliferation of fibrous tissue within the breast. In contrast, mammary gland hyperplasia results from hyperplasia of the mammary lobules, leading to palpable masses and pain. Clinically, mammary gland hyperplasia typically manifests as discomfort or tenderness before and after menstruation, along with breast distension and pain; patients may also detect lumps or nodules upon palpation.
Fibroadenomas, on the other hand, usually present as painless, mobile masses and are most commonly solitary. Diagnosis is typically confirmed via color Doppler ultrasound. Surgical excision is generally recommended, followed by histopathological examination to determine the nature of the breast mass. For patients with mammary gland hyperplasia, lifestyle modifications are advised—including adequate rest, avoidance of late-night activities and overexertion, abstinence from alcohol—and adjunctive pharmacotherapy (e.g., Rukang Capsules) for approximately one to two months.
Endocrine imbalance reflects a dynamic imbalance between Yin and Yang, predominantly characterized by Yin deficiency, often stemming from stagnation of Liver Qi. Intense anger injures the Liver, excessive rumination harms the Spleen, and shock or fear damages the Kidneys—all potentially disrupting the smooth flow of Qi and causing Liver Qi stagnation. Therefore, moxibustion is particularly suitable for regulating endocrine imbalance: it promotes free flow of Liver Qi and enables Essence and Blood to nourish the entire body, thereby achieving comprehensive internal-external regulation.
