Introduction
Pancreatic and peripancreatic cystic lesions—commonly referred to as pancreatic cysts—include true cysts, pseudocysts, and cystic neoplasms. Common treatment modalities for pancreatic cysts include medical therapy, surgical intervention, and endoscopic management. In the early stages of formation, asymptomatic pancreatic cysts typically do not require specific treatment; instead, they can be monitored via ultrasound follow-up, and most cysts resolve spontaneously.

1. Pharmacotherapy

In the early stage of pancreatic cyst formation, asymptomatic cysts generally require no specific treatment and may be monitored via ultrasound follow-up; many such cysts resolve spontaneously. Additionally, octreotide may be administered to suppress pancreatic secretion and promote cyst resolution, thereby accelerating cyst absorption.

2. Surgical Treatment

For patients with pseudocysts that persist without resolution during surveillance, drainage procedures are indicated. If a pancreatic tumor is present but exhibits slow growth and well-defined margins, surgical resection of the pancreatic cyst may be performed.

3. Endoscopic Therapy

Endoscopic therapy is suitable for pseudocysts. It involves creating a fistula between the pseudocyst and the gastrointestinal tract and placing a stent to facilitate drainage of cyst contents into the GI tract, leading to gradual cyst reduction and eventual resolution.

Maintaining healthy lifestyle habits—including regular sleep patterns, moderate physical activity, avoidance of excessive fatigue, and preservation of positive mental well-being—contributes significantly to overall health and disease recovery.
