Symptoms of Physical Weakness
Physical weakness can cause numerous discomforts, impairing normal work performance and daily life. What are the symptoms of physical weakness?
Symptoms of Physical Weakness
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), constitutional deficiency is categorized into four types: Qi deficiency, Blood deficiency, Yin deficiency, and Yang deficiency—each presenting with distinct clinical manifestations.
Yin Deficiency: Common symptoms include heat sensation in the palms and soles, night sweats (profuse sweating during sleep that ceases upon waking), restlessness, insomnia, flushed cheeks, weight loss, dry mouth, and persistent thirst unrelieved by drinking water.
Qi Deficiency: Typical symptoms include low energy, easy fatigability, dizziness, reluctance to speak, spontaneous sweating after prolonged sitting, aversion to wind, frequent colds, and worsening of the above symptoms following exertion.
Yang Deficiency: Characteristic symptoms include marked intolerance to cold, cold hands and feet, susceptibility to frostbite in winter, lack of motivation for physical activity, a tendency to curl up while sleeping, frequent urination, diarrhea, and loose stools.

Patients with Qi deficiency may benefit from Qi-tonifying herbs such as Astragalus (Huangqi), Ginseng (Renshen), Codonopsis (Dangshen), or Pseudostellaria (Taizishen). Alternatively, proprietary Chinese patent medicines—including Sijunzi Wan (Four Gentlemen Pills) or Qixue Shuangbu Koufuye (Qi and Blood Dual-Tonifying Oral Liquid)—may be prescribed.
Individuals with Blood deficiency may take Blood-nourishing formulas such as Ejiao Xue Granules or Compound Ejiao Syrup. Gui Pi Wan (Spleen-Nourishing and Mind-Calming Pills) may also be used orally to address Blood deficiency.

Patients with Kidney deficiency commonly experience dizziness, tinnitus, and night sweats. Treatment options include oral administration of Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Six Formula), Qiju Dihuang Wan (Lycium and Chrysanthemum Rehmannia Pill), Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan (Jin Kui Kidney Qi Pill), Yougui Wan (Right-Returning Pill), or Zuogui Wan (Left-Returning Pill).
Therefore, selecting appropriate medications based on specific symptom patterns represents the optimal approach to managing constitutional weakness. We hope this information proves helpful to you.
