In adults, low alkaline phosphatase levels may result from a long-term vegetarian diet—i.e., a manifestation of malnutrition—or may be associated with anemia. It is recommended to get adequate rest, consume nutrient-rich foods—including high-protein fish and meat, fresh vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins, and soy-based products—and avoid prolonged late-night activity or excessively strenuous physical labor.
