Hiccups in infants typically occur only when they swallow excessive air during feeding. They may also result from air entering the stomach or mouth. As long as proper burping—holding the baby upright and gently patting their back—is performed after each feeding, hiccups can generally be prevented. Therefore, there is no need for excessive concern; this is a normal, manageable situation that reflects good parental care.
