Should chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) be treated with immediate surgery?
Disease description:
Recently, I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). I would like to know: Is surgery required immediately for CML?
Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a type of leukemia that is relatively complex to treat. Treatment plans are tailored according to the individual patient’s condition and do not necessarily require immediate surgery. CML can often be effectively controlled with medication. While leukemia is commonly treated via hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (formerly referred to as bone marrow transplantation), finding a suitable donor match is challenging and time-consuming.
