Why Can’t I Sleep Even After Taking Sleeping Pills?
Disease description:
I’ve been unable to sleep for several days recently. Unable to bear it any longer, I took some sleeping pills, but I’m still suffering from insomnia. Why am I still unable to sleep even after taking sleeping pills?
Insomnia persisting despite oral administration of sedative-hypnotic medications may indicate the presence of other underlying contributing factors. In such cases, timely pharmacological intervention is recommended—either continuing the current sedative-hypnotic medication or combining it with vitamin B complex (e.g., “Shigu Weisu,” a Chinese proprietary medicine containing B vitamins). Additionally, non-pharmacological approaches before bedtime—such as appropriate physical therapies or psychological hypnosis—may be beneficial. Patients should avoid consuming tea or coffee and must maintain emotional well-being, avoiding excessive emotional excitement.
