Disease description:

When I was young, I injured my knee, which left me with a lingering condition—whenever the weather turns cloudy or damp, I experience a dull, nagging pain in my knee. I’m unsure of the underlying cause. Recently, during a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with bone spurs (osteophytes) in my knee. What should I do about bone spurs in the knee?

Bone spurs within a patient’s knee joint can irritate the articular cartilage, synovial membrane, muscles, and other structures, resulting in joint pain and restricted mobility. They may also cause joint effusion and swelling. Treatment is typically tailored to the clinical presentation and may include medications that promote blood circulation, reduce swelling, suppress inflammation, and relieve pain, combined with physical therapy and acupuncture. In cases of severe symptoms, surgical intervention may be considered.
