Rashes on the neck accompanied by intense itching warrant a visit to the hospital for proper diagnosis and targeted treatment. If the rash is caused by allergic dermatitis, antihistamines—such as cetirizine—may be prescribed. Topical treatments—such as desonide cream—can also be used concurrently. If folliculitis is the underlying cause, topical therapies—such as fusidic acid cream—may be recommended.
