Can duodenal and gastric ulcers develop into gastric cancer?

I was recently diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and have been undergoing treatment since then. However, my symptoms have worsened again recently, and I’m concerned about the possibility of cancer development. Could you please clarify: Can a duodenal ulcer turn into gastric cancer?

Duodenal ulcers do not transform into gastric cancer. Duodenal ulcers are associated with excessive gastric acid secretion or impaired duodenal function, leading to inflammation of the intestinal mucosa due to gastric acid exposure, which in turn causes mucosal damage. This is a common digestive system disorder; most patients recover fully following systematic treatment, which is primarily conservative. Therefore, patients need not be overly concerned.
