Patients with lumbar disc herniation should avoid deep squats. Lumbar disc herniation often causes abdominal pain, as well as numbness, tingling, or severe pain radiating to the buttocks, groin, and lower extremities. In severe cases, it may even lead to urinary incontinence. Deep squatting places exceptionally high demands on spinal and muscular stability. During this exercise, the lumbar spine bears substantial compressive forces; excessive loading may exacerbate existing disc pathology. Therefore, individuals diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation should avoid deep squat training. Wishing you good health!
