Hepatitis A is curable. It is an acute infectious disease; some individuals may spontaneously clear the virus and recover without treatment, but most patients require medical intervention. Hepatitis A typically presents as an acute illness and is generally easy to treat. Children diagnosed with hepatitis A should actively cooperate with their physicians to receive hepatoprotective and antiviral therapy; recovery usually occurs within one to two weeks.
