Itchy skin with red bumps—what’s causing this?
Disease description:
My skin becomes extremely itchy before bedtime, and numerous red bumps appear—what could be causing this?
Itchy skin with red bumps may be caused by an allergic reaction—for example, exposure to airborne allergens or an allergic response to the fabric of new clothing. Such reactions can manifest as raised bumps (hives or rashes). Alternatively, the symptoms may result from consuming certain foods known to trigger allergies, such as shellfish, mangoes, kiwifruit, walnuts, or eggs. It is recommended to visit a hospital for a skin prick test to identify the specific allergen and enable targeted, cause-based treatment.
