Facial itching in summer may be caused by mites, but it is not necessarily entirely due to mites.

Mites, especially sebaceous gland mites, are commonly present on human skin. They mainly parasitize in hair follicles and sebaceous glands and usually do not cause noticeable discomfort. However, under certain conditions, such as the hot and humid environment in summer, increased sebum production may promote mite proliferation, leading to skin problems such as itching, redness, and acne.

However, facial itching in summer can also be caused by various other factors. For example, sunburn is a common cause. Strong sunlight and prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation in summer can lead to sunburn, which may cause itching. Additionally, high temperatures and low air humidity in summer can cause rapid evaporation of skin moisture, resulting in dryness and itching. Therefore, when facial itching occurs in summer, it should not simply be attributed to mites.

Patients are advised to maintain good personal hygiene, regularly clean bedding and clothing, and pay attention to sun protection and hydration to reduce contact with allergens.
