Recurrent gastric ulcers may cause symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, distension, nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, and heartburn. As the condition progresses, additional symptoms—including belching and melena—may develop. When gastric ulcers recur, patients should promptly follow their physician’s guidance and undergo treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
