What Are the Symptoms of Gastric Ulcer Bleeding?
Disease description:
I’ve been spitting up blood recently and suspect I may have gastric ulcer bleeding. What are the symptoms of gastric ulcer bleeding?
Gastric ulcer bleeding typically causes upper abdominal pain. When the volume of bleeding is small, stools may turn dark red or black (melena), and hematemesis (vomiting blood) may also occur. With larger volumes of bleeding, symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, syncope (fainting), and hypovolemic shock may develop. Prompt medical attention is strongly recommended.
