Can premature ejaculation affect pregnancy?
Disease description:
My cousin suffers from premature ejaculation and is now planning to have a child. Will premature ejaculation affect pregnancy?
Premature ejaculation typically does not affect fertility. Under normal circumstances, as long as sperm is ejaculated into the female vagina and can successfully fuse with an egg, conception can occur. However, some patients may have coexisting medical conditions or erectile dysfunction. If ejaculation occurs before penile insertion into the vagina—or if ejaculation fails to occur at all—pregnancy cannot result. In such cases, symptoms can generally be alleviated through pharmacological treatment or surgical intervention.
