How to Immediately Relieve Anal Fissure Pain
Disease description:
My mother has hemorrhoids, and excessive straining during bowel movements has caused an anal fissure, resulting in pain. Could you please advise how to immediately relieve the pain from an anal fissure?
Anal fissure pain can be managed with oral analgesics, such as sodium diclofenac capsules, which effectively relieve pain; however, these medications must be taken under a physician’s guidance. Alternatively, topical application of lidocaine ointment to the anal area—a local anesthetic—can also alleviate pain and discomfort associated with anal fissures. Note that for chronic (long-standing) anal fissures that recur repeatedly and cause pain lasting longer than three months, surgical intervention is required for definitive cure.
