What Causes Clicking or Popping Sounds in the Wrist Joint?
Disease description:
Recently, my cousin’s wrist joint has been making cracking sounds—what could be causing this?
Crepitus (cracking or popping sounds) in the wrist joint may result from long-term unhealthy dietary habits, osteoporosis, or inflammatory stimulation of the bone and joint. If caused by osteoporosis, treatment may include calcium carbonate granules or other medications prescribed by a physician, along with increased intake of calcium-rich foods to help alleviate symptoms. If due to osteoarthritis, pain relief may be achieved with medications such as celecoxib capsules, taken strictly as directed by a healthcare provider.
