What Are the Symptoms of Anal Fissure?
Disease description:
Recently, my stool has been dark in color, and I’ve noticed streaks of blood. After bowel movements, I experience severe anal pain. A friend suggested it might be an anal fissure. What are the symptoms of an anal fissure?
Symptoms include pain, constipation, and bleeding. Pain is the predominant symptom; generally, the more severe and prolonged the pain, the more serious the condition. Bleeding typically manifests as dripping blood during defecation or blood streaks on toilet paper after bowel movements, with the blood appearing bright red. Some patients intentionally reduce food intake due to fear of defecation, leading over time to mild anemia or malnutrition; others may develop menstrual irregularities or lumbosacral pain. During the infected phase of anal fissure, patients may experience fever, swelling, pain, and purulent or bloody discharge.
