Trachoma is treated with medications. Trachoma is a form of conjunctivitis caused by *Chlamydia trachomatis*. The primary treatment for chlamydial trachoma involves oral antibiotics, supplemented by both systemic therapy and topical ophthalmic treatments—such as eye drops during the day and ocular ointment at night. Additionally, most antibiotics may be considered for use, as many demonstrate efficacy against *Chlamydia trachomatis*; combination therapy may also be employed.
