Indigestion may cause back pain. Excessive gastric acid secretion can radiate from the esophagus to the back, resulting in pain. Moreover, indigestion increases the burden on the gallbladder and reduces bile secretion, which can also lead to referred back pain. In addition, back pain might be caused by factors such as overexertion; strenuous activity may injure the back muscles and subsequently cause pain.
