Dr. Cheng Yicheng
Boils on the buttocks can generally be treated through surgery or topical ointments. When a boil appears on the buttocks, it is usually due to a bacterial infection causing an abscess or pustule. If the abscess is large, surgical incision is required to thoroughly drain and clean the pus, followed by drainage placement. Antibiotics should be used after surgery. If the lesion is only a superficial pustule and not deeply seated, topical treatments such as ichthammol ointment or spiramycin acetate tablets may be used to draw out and eliminate the pus.
