It is caused by local strain or inflammation of the hand. Bone spurs in the fingers may result from excessive use of the hands, leading to abnormal bone growth. Osteoarthritis and other rheumatic or autoimmune diseases may contribute to this condition. The presence of bone spurs does not necessarily cause symptoms such as pain. Localized pain commonly arises from damage to joint cartilage, exposure of underlying bone nerves due to cartilage loss, or increased pressure within the joint cavity caused by fluid accumulation.
