Cervical polyps typically form within about six months. The time required for their development mainly depends on the degree of local cervical inflammation and how quickly the inflammatory stimulation causes tissue hyperplasia; rapid tissue growth leads to a shorter clinical formation period of the polyp, whereas slower hyperplasia prolongs the formation time. Once diagnosed with cervical polyps, timely surgical removal is necessary. Although the probability of malignant transformation in cervical polyps is low, there remains a potential risk. After surgery, the removed polyp should be sent for pathological examination.
