Previously, I heard from a friend that CPR can be used to rescue someone after an electric shock, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. Could you explain how to perform CPR in first aid for electric shock?

Dr. Wang Mingxuan
In emergency treatment of electric shock, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) generally requires that the patient be separated from the electrical source, meaning the power supply must be cut off. Since the human body is a conductor, electricity remains active if the power is not disconnected. During rescue attempts, if the rescuer touches the patient without cutting off the power, they may also suffer electric shock. Therefore, it is essential to disconnect the power source immediately. If the power switch cannot be located, use an insulating object such as a wooden or bamboo stick to move the wire away or separate the patient from the electrical source.
