Hello, elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) can stem from both pathological and physiological causes. It may result from poor eye-use habits; additionally, conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease can also contribute to increased IOP. For patients exhibiting signs of elevated IOP, failure to receive timely treatment may lead to glaucoma—and potentially blindness. I hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
