How long after taking Tylenol does the fever subside?
Disease description:
Today I developed a fever, and my family advised me to take Tylenol. How long after taking Tylenol will the fever subside?
Tylenol, also known as acetaminophen, is a commonly used antipyretic and analgesic medication in clinical practice. After taking Tylenol, its fever-reducing effect typically begins within 30 to 60 minutes. This is primarily because Tylenol inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby reducing fever. In individuals with faster drug absorption, a decrease in body temperature may be observed around 30 minutes; however, in those with slower absorption, the antipyretic effect may be delayed until approximately 60 minutes. Generally, about two hours after administration, Tylenol reaches peak blood concentration, at which point its effect is strongest. Please note that Tylenol should be used under the guidance of a physician to ensure both safety and effectiveness.
