What causes stomach pain during menstruation?
Disease description:
For the past three or four months, I've had stomach pain every time my period comes. I'd like to ask, what causes abdominal pain during menstruation?
Menstrual abdominal pain can be caused by various factors. Cold exposure is a common cause, as cold stimulation may lead to abdominal muscle spasms and result in pain. Unhealthy diet, such as consuming raw or cold foods, may obstruct menstrual blood flow and worsen abdominal pain. Psychological factors like stress or anxiety can also disrupt nervous system function, contributing to pain. Medical conditions should not be overlooked either. Gynecological disorders such as endometritis and endometriosis may cause menstrual pain due to inflammatory irritation or the presence of ectopic endometrial tissue. Conditions like adenomyosis and uterine fibroids may also lead to dysmenorrhea. Menstrual abdominal pain could therefore result from a combination of factors including cold exposure, poor diet, psychological stress, or gynecological diseases. If the pain persists or worsens, it is advisable to seek timely medical evaluation for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
