What causes clear blisters to form on the surgical wound after surgery?
Disease description:
Recently, my neighbor got injured and underwent surgery. After the surgery, a transparent blister appeared at the wound site. Why does a transparent blister form at the surgical wound after the operation?
Transparent blisters on the surgical wound may be caused by various factors. One possible cause is wound infection, which typically occurs when the wound becomes contaminated or the patient reacts to the irritation of the sutures, and may be accompanied by serous or purulent discharge. Secondly, some patients may develop an allergic reaction to adhesive tape or gauze, which can also result in small blisters near the wound. Increased local tension is another common cause; elevated pressure within the wound or inflammatory edema may impair venous return in the skin, leading to tissue edema and tension blisters. For these situations, timely medical assistance should be sought, and appropriate management measures, such as changing dressings, applying anti-inflammatory medications or antibiotics, should be taken to promote wound healing and recovery.
