Heat rash and allergies differ in several aspects: 1. Different causes: Heat rash is mainly caused by a hot and humid environment, where sweat does not evaporate easily, leading to blocked sweat ducts and subsequent inflammation due to sweat leakage into surrounding tissues. Allergies, on the other hand, result from an excessive immune response after the body comes into contact with certain substances known as allergens, such as foods, medications, and pollen. 2. Different symptom presentations: Heat rash primarily manifests as raised small blisters or papules on the skin, accompanied by a prickling sensation or itching. It commonly occurs in areas prone to sweating and poor ventilation, such as the neck, shoulders, and back. Allergy symptoms, however, are more varied and may include skin rashes, red eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and in severe cases, difficulty breathing or even shock. 3. Different treatments: Treatment for heat rash focuses on keeping the skin clean and dry, wearing breathable clothing, avoiding high-temperature environments, and applying creams with anti-inflammatory and soothing effects. Allergy treatment primarily involves identifying and avoiding the allergen, using anti-allergic medications to relieve symptoms, and, when necessary, undergoing immunomodulatory therapy.
