What stage is lung cancer with coughing up blood?
Disease description:
I have lung cancer, and this morning I coughed up blood. I would like to know what stage my lung cancer is currently at, now that I have coughed up blood.

The symptom of coughing up blood in lung cancer cannot directly determine the stage of the disease, as this phenomenon may occur in early, middle, or advanced stages of lung cancer. In early stages, the tumor is small and causes relatively minor irritation to the pulmonary mucosa; therefore, coughing up blood generally does not occur unless the tumor ulcerates, which may lead to slight hemoptysis. As the disease progresses to middle or advanced stages, tumor growth and spread may lead to invasion of blood vessels, causing vessel rupture and increased volume of hemoptysis, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as chest pain, weight loss, and fatigue. Additionally, if a lung cancer patient develops impaired coagulation function or has comorbidities such as tuberculosis, hemoptysis may also occur. Therefore, when hemoptysis occurs in patients with lung cancer, early evaluation with chest CT and pathological examination should be performed to determine the condition and implement appropriate treatment measures.
