Adverse Effects of Niacinamide on the Skin
Disease description:
Because I have dark skin, I have been using niacinamide. I would like to know what are the side effects of niacinamide on the skin?
The adverse effects of niacinamide on the skin mainly include the following aspects:
1. Allergic reactions: Niacin in niacinamide may cause skin allergies,表现为皮肤发红、发痒、发烫、刺痛,甚至出现丘疹、痘痘等症状。 These symptoms are more likely to occur under cold, dry climatic conditions.
2. Skin redness and peeling: If niacinamide is not used as directed or if the skin is intolerant to it, skin redness and peeling may occur.
3. Enlarged pores: Frequent and excessive application of niacinamide may lead to clogged pores and consequently enlarged pores if the skin fails to absorb it in a timely manner.
4. Other adverse effects: Some individuals may also experience dizziness, nausea, loss of appetite, and other adverse reactions after using products containing niacinamide, although these symptoms are generally mild and can resolve spontaneously.
If any discomfort occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician.
