How long does it take for a fertilized egg to implant?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been studying some medical topics and discussing the implantation of the fertilized egg with my classmates. How long does it take for a fertilized egg to implant?
The fertilized egg typically implants in the uterine lining between approximately 5 and 7 days after fertilization. Following the union of sperm and egg to form a fertilized egg, the embryo begins developing while traveling through the fallopian tube toward the uterus; implantation usually occurs around day 5 to day 7. After reaching the fallopian tube, sperm generally retain their fertilizing capacity for about three days.
