Disease description:

A few days ago, I sustained a severe external injury to my leg and required numerous stitches. The wound has now nearly healed. I would like to ask: Will removing the sutures be painful? Are there any precautions I should take?

Hello, It is entirely normal to experience wound formation, scabbing, and other such physiological responses at the surgical site following surgery—there is no need for excessive concern. Once the wound has healed to an appropriate stage, you may contact your physician to schedule suture removal. Prior to the suture removal procedure, the physician will administer local anesthesia; therefore, you should not experience significant pain. Any mild sensation from the anesthesia remains well within the patient’s tolerance range. I hope this information is helpful. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!
