In general, the suture removal time for double eyelid surgery is 5 to 7 days after the operation, although the exact timing may vary depending on individual constitution, surgical technique, and postoperative recovery.

Younger, healthier individuals with faster metabolism tend to heal more quickly and may be ready for suture removal in as early as 5 days. For older individuals or those in poor health, especially those with medical conditions that may impair healing, suture removal may occur closer to 7 days. For sutured double eyelid surgery, which involves relatively less trauma and faster recovery, suture removal can usually be performed within 5 to 6 days. In contrast, for full incision double eyelid surgery, which involves larger incisions and longer recovery, sutures are generally removed 6 to 7 days postoperatively.

If postoperative care is properly managed and no complications such as infection, redness, or swelling occur, sutures can be removed at the usual time. However, if infection develops, with signs such as discharge or excessive redness, suture removal should be delayed until after appropriate wound treatment and inflammation control, and until the wound has adequately healed.

Patients are advised to follow the surgeon's instructions regarding suture removal timing to ensure optimal surgical outcome and wound healing. Additionally, after suture removal, it is important to keep the wound clean, avoid contact with water, and refrain from strenuous activities to promote further healing.
