What Are Nodules?
Disease description:
My husband went to the hospital for a checkup yesterday, and the doctor said he has nodules in his lungs. What exactly are nodules?
Nodules are irregular, round, or oval hard masses that form as a result of inflammatory or non-inflammatory tissue damage and can occur in multiple parts of the body. Common types include pulmonary nodules, breast nodules, and thyroid nodules. Most nodules are benign; however, some may be malignant. If a nodule shows progressive enlargement, it warrants prompt medical attention and timely evaluation at a hospital.
