How many days after a delayed period can pregnancy be detected?

My period is one week late this month and still hasn’t arrived. I’d like to use a pregnancy test strip to check whether I’m pregnant, but I’ve heard that it’s too early to detect pregnancy with a test strip. I’d like to know: how many days after a missed period can pregnancy be reliably detected?

Hello, menstrual delay in women is quite common. In general, a one-week delay in menstruation does not necessarily indicate pregnancy; however, if symptoms suggestive of pregnancy appear, they should be taken seriously. A pregnancy test cannot reliably detect pregnancy after only a one-week delay in menstruation.
