I enjoy exercising, but I’m not sure what the normal heart rate is during physical activity—what’s the normal heart rate range while exercising?

During exercise, the normal heart rate range is 120 to 180 beats per minute. As individual physical conditions vary, heart rates may differ accordingly; exceeding this range significantly increases the risk of adverse events. Patients with compromised cardiac function should avoid vigorous exercise. Appropriate physical activity, however, benefits cardiac functional recovery. If the heart rate becomes excessively rapid, adequate rest is recommended.
