What Causes Yellowing of the Face?
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed my complexion looked somewhat yellow while looking in the mirror, which has caused me considerable concern. Could you please explain what causes facial yellowness?
1. Chronic late-night sleeping deprives the skin of adequate rest and recovery time, leading to progressive accumulation of toxins in the body. This gradually deteriorates skin health and may result in sallow or yellowish facial complexion. Ensuring sufficient, high-quality sleep is essential for gradual resolution of this condition.
2. Deficiency of Qi and Blood: When the body suffers from insufficient Qi and Blood, blood circulation becomes impaired, often manifesting as a sallow, dull, and lusterless complexion. This condition is also closely associated with Spleen- and Stomach-Qi deficiency. Since dysfunction of the Spleen and Stomach can predispose the body to various disorders, regulating and strengthening these organs is often the first step in managing such symptoms.
3. Liver disease: The liver plays a critical role in detoxifying the body. When hepatic function is compromised, toxins accumulate and cannot be adequately eliminated. Excess toxins may then enter systemic circulation and deposit beneath the skin, resulting in jaundice-like yellowing of the skin.
