I have fairly severe constipation, and a friend recommended probiotics to me. I purchased some, but I’m not quite sure how to take them. Should probiotics be taken on an empty stomach or after meals?

There is no universally strict regulation regarding the timing of probiotic intake—probiotics can be taken before, during, or after meals. However, it is essential to follow the instructions provided on the product label, as there are numerous types of probiotics. The water temperature used to take probiotics should be below 37°C; excessively hot water may impair probiotic viability. Appropriate probiotic consumption can help regulate the intestinal microbiota.
