Can severe anemia caused by gastric ulcers lead to death?
Disease description:
Irregular eating habits have led to gastric ulcers, accompanied by severe anemia. I’m somewhat concerned this might affect my lifespan—can severe gastric ulcers and anemia be life-threatening?
Gastric ulcers, if accompanied by severe anemia, may adversely affect overall health; in extreme cases, severe anemia can even threaten life. Such patients must receive prompt treatment, including regular use of medications that suppress gastric acid secretion and protect the gastric mucosa, along with active management of the anemia. In cases of particularly severe anemia, blood transfusion may be necessary.
