A large pulse pressure (i.e., the difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure) primarily occurs in elderly individuals and is directly associated with arterial sclerosis and reduced vascular elasticity. However, when young people present with an increased pulse pressure, they should first undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation at a hospital. Common underlying conditions include aortic regurgitation, hyperthyroidism, anemia, rheumatic heart disease, and congenital heart disease. In daily life, it is advisable to drink plenty of water, follow a light diet, consume ample vegetables and fruits, and engage regularly in outdoor physical activity.
