Nausea, gastric distension, and a bitter taste in the mouth—what medication should I take?
Disease description:
I’ve had stomach problems for a long time; recently, I’ve been experiencing frequent nausea, bloating, and a bitter taste in my mouth. What medication would you recommend?
Persistent nausea, abdominal bloating, and a bitter taste in the mouth may indicate chronic gastritis; however, cholecystitis or bile reflux gastritis cannot be ruled out. Definitive diagnosis requires hepatic and biliary ultrasound and gastroscopy. Patients should avoid spicy, irritating, and high-fat, greasy foods. Once diagnosed, prompt pharmacological treatment is essential, which may include oral domperidone, omeprazole, amoxicillin, and anethol trithione tablets.
