The main treatment approaches for keratitis include the following: 1. **Infection control**: Appropriate antibiotic or antiviral eye drops are selected based on the causative pathogen—for example, gentamicin sulfate eye drops or acyclovir eye drops—to eradicate the infectious agent. 2. **Physical therapy**: During chronic phases, local warm compresses may be applied for 15–20 minutes, two to three times daily, to improve ocular blood circulation and reduce inflammation. For severe cases, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen or cauterization may also be considered. 3. **Elimination of predisposing factors**: Keratitis caused by conditions such as entropion, trichiasis, or chronic dacryocystitis requires timely diagnosis and management of these underlying disorders. 4. **Surgical intervention**: Corneal transplantation may be necessary in severe cases—for instance, when corneal ulcer perforation or prolapse of intraocular contents occurs. 5. **Lifestyle modifications**: Patients should avoid prolonged use of electronic devices, maintain ocular dryness and cleanliness, and cultivate a positive mindset and healthy daily habits.
