What Foods Should People with Anemia Avoid?
Disease description:
I’ve recently been diagnosed with anemia. I’d like to know which foods people with anemia should avoid.
Individuals with anemia should avoid consuming foods that are difficult to digest, such as leeks and onions. Patients with anemia often experience gastrointestinal dysfunction; ingesting indigestible foods may therefore cause harm to the body. Additionally, patients with anemia should routinely avoid spicy and greasy foods. They must also abstain from strong tea and coffee, as these beverages may inhibit iron absorption.
