Introduction
To prevent acne, thoroughly cleanse the skin and avoid consuming spicy or fried foods. Acne—also known as pimples—is caused by infection with *Propionibacterium acnes*. Excessive sebum production by the sebaceous glands leads to increased oiliness of the skin. Preventing acne also involves maintaining facial cleanliness, ensuring adequate sleep, refraining from touching the face with hands, and minimizing opportunities for bacterial exposure.

Acne commonly appears on the faces of most adolescents—both boys and girls. Although these small pimples do not affect physical health, they can significantly impact one’s appearance. For attractive teens, acne can feel like a nightmare, prompting them to seek effective methods for its removal. So, what are some effective ways to prevent acne?

How to Prevent Acne

To prevent acne, thoroughly cleanse the skin daily and avoid consuming spicy or fried foods. Acne—also known as acne vulgaris—is primarily caused by infection with Propionibacterium acnes. During puberty, sebaceous glands become highly active, leading to increased sebum (oil) production. Prevention strategies also include maintaining facial cleanliness, ensuring adequate sleep, and refraining from touching the face with hands to minimize bacterial exposure.

Clinically, acne manifests as numerous red papules, predominantly occurring on the face, forehead, chest, and back—areas where sebaceous glands are densely distributed. Mildly inflamed lesions appear as erythematous papules, while more pronounced inflammation may result in reddish, inflammatory papules or small pustules. Deeper lesions can develop into deep-red, cystic nodules. After resolution, residual hyperpigmentation and localized telangiectasia (dilated small blood vessels) may remain.

Patients are advised to maintain good personal hygiene in daily life, avoid spicy or irritating foods, and refrain from overeating or binge eating—all of which can impair metabolic function. We hope this information proves helpful.
