Introduction
If mild cerebral edema is caused by conditions such as intracerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction, it usually resolves within about two weeks after treatment. In cases of large-area intracerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction, recovery generally takes about three weeks with active treatment. If the edema is caused by malignant tumors, symptoms can be effectively alleviated through surgery or medication, but complete resolution is usually unattainable.

Mild cerebral edema typically resolves within approximately 2–3 weeks; however, in some cases, it may not fully resolve. The exact duration depends on the underlying cause and severity of the condition.

If mild cerebral edema results from conditions such as intracerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction, it usually improves within about two weeks following appropriate treatment. In cases of extensive intracerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction causing midline shift, resolution generally occurs within approximately three weeks after aggressive treatment. When mild cerebral edema is secondary to malignant tumors—such as brain tumors—progressive tumor growth often compresses adjacent brain tissue, leading to worsening edema. While surgical intervention or pharmacotherapy can effectively alleviate symptoms, complete resolution of the edema is typically unattainable.

Patients with mild cerebral edema should avoid high-cholesterol foods, such as organ meats and egg yolks, and instead consume iodine-rich foods, including nori and kelp. Additionally, smoking and alcohol consumption must be discontinued, and overeating or binge eating should be avoided, as these behaviors may exacerbate symptoms and impair recovery.
